INTEKRON Electrical replaces outdated fuse boards with modern consumer units across North and East London. As an NICEIC Approved Contractor we fit fully protected units with RCD/RCBO devices, test the installation to BS 7671, and issue an Electrical Installation Certificate and Building Regulations notification on completion, so your property is safer, compliant and ready for anything you add later.
Your consumer unit — often still called the fuse board or fuse box — is the control centre of your electrics. It houses the main switch and the protective devices that cut power the instant a fault or overload occurs. Older boards use rewireable fuses and offer little or no shock protection; a modern unit uses RCDs and RCBOs to protect people and cables far more effectively.
An old board with rewireable fuses or a plastic enclosure, no RCD protection, breakers that trip for no clear reason, a failed EICR against the board, or adding load like an extension or EV charger, all point to a replacement.
A modern consumer unit with RCD/RCBO protection in a metal enclosure to current BS 7671 standards, surge protection where required, full testing, and your Electrical Installation Certificate on completion. We handle the Building Regulations (Part P) notification for you, no dealing with Building Control.
An NICEIC Approved Contractor able to self-certify notifiable work, fitting and testing to the current BS 7671 wiring regulations. Certificate and Building Regs notification issued as standard, with clean, tidy work and minimal disruption to your home.
